At Skipperi, punctuality and clear communication are essential to ensure smooth operations and fairness for all members. The following policies apply to late arrivals, checking in, and returning boats on time.
Late Arrival Policy
Checking In
- Members can check in at any time during their reservation slot using the Skipperi app.
- While checking in right at the start is encouraged, it’s not mandatory.
- If you anticipate a significant delay or need to cancel, please notify Skipperi support as soon as possible to avoid issues or penalties.
No-Show Designation
- Failure to check in during your reserved time slot without prior communication may result in your reservation being marked as a no-show.
- No-shows can lead to penalties, as detailed in our Cancellations and No-Show Penalties article.
Time Extension Policy
Extending Your Reservation
- Skipperi does not allow extensions of active reservations. To enjoy additional boating time, you can book another available time slot after your current reservation ends.
Returning Boats on Time
- Boats must be returned by the end of your reserved shift:
- Morning Shift: Return by 12:00 PM (winter) / 1:30 PM (spring/summer).
- Afternoon Shift: Return by 5:00 PM (winter) / 6:00 PM (spring/summer).
- Full-Day Shift: Return by 5:00 PM (winter) / 6:00 PM (spring/summer).
Late Return Penalties
- Returning a boat late may disrupt subsequent reservations and result in:
- A late return fee applied to your account.
- Documentation of the incident on your membership profile.
Tips for Staying on Schedule
- Plan for Delays: Account for travel time and Hilton Head’s tides when planning your arrival and return.
- Flexible Check-In: Take advantage of the option to check in anytime during your reservation, but ensure timely communication if you’re running late.
- Set Reminders: Use the Skipperi app or your phone to alert you when it’s time to start and end your boating session.
- Communicate Promptly: If you expect to be significantly late or need to cancel, reach out to Skipperi support as soon as possible.
