How to book a boat: Navigating the reservation system

Booking a boat with Skipperi is quick and easy using our reservation system. Whether you're looking to book a boat for a short morning trip or an entire day on the water, this guide will walk you through the steps to secure your reservation.

Step 1: Log In to the Skipperi App

1. Open the Skipperi app on your mobile device.
2. Log in using your registered account details.
3. If you're new to Skipperi, make sure you’ve completed all onboarding steps before attempting to book.

Step 2: Access the Reservation System

1. To begin, tap the 'Reserve' tab at the bottom of the screen.
2. Next, tap on 'Motorboat' to view available boats.

Step 3: Choose Your Location

1. Once you’re in the reservation section, select your preferred boating location (e.g., Hilton Head, SC).
2. If your home location is Hilton Head, please contact Skipperi support if you would like to reserve a boat in another US location or international location.

Step 4: Select Your Reservation Type

Skipperi offers three types of reservations, based on the time you wish to spend on the water:

• Morning Shift: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Full-Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  
  

Select the time slot that works best for you.

Step 5: Choose Your Boat

1. Browse through the available boats at your selected location.
2. Check boat details such as size, type, and amenities.
3. Select the boat you want to reserve. If the boat you want is unavailable, you may need to adjust your time slot.

Step 6: Review Your Booking Details

Before confirming:

1. Check the reservation date, time, and boat selection.
2. Review the terms of use and cancellation policy.
3. If everything looks good, click Confirm Reservation.

Step 7: Check-in on the Day of Your Reservation

On the day of your reservation:

1. Arrive at the dock at least 10-15 minutes early.
2. Open the app and check in to officially start your reservation.
3. Inspect the boat for any damages, and report any issues in the app.

Step 8: Enjoy Your Time on the Water!

Once checked in, you’re all set to enjoy your boating experience. Follow all safety procedures and local boating rules while on the water.

Step 10: Check-out After Your Reservation

At the end of your reservation:

1. Return the boat to the designated dock.
2. Use the app to check out and confirm the boat’s condition.
3. Report any damages or lost items, if necessary.

Helpful Tips

• Booking Ahead: It’s recommended to book your boat in advance, especially during peak hours or holidays.
• Available Boats: The availability of boats may vary, so check the app for real-time updates.
• Cancellation: Review the cancellation policy to avoid any unwanted charges in case of changes to your booking.

Important Note: Reservation Limits

You can have up to two active reservations at any time:

1. One pre-reservation (booked in advance).
2. One last-minute reservation (for today or tomorrow).

Once your reservation ends, you can immediately make a new one.

Each day offers two reservation slots:

• Morning Slot: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• Afternoon Slot: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Your reservation gives you exclusive use of the boat for the entire duration of your chosen time slot.

If you'd like to reserve the boat for the whole day, you can combine the morning and afternoon slots into a full-day reservation (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM). To do this, you must make the booking 8 days in advance, and it will count as two separate reservations.

There is no limit to the total number of reservations you can make throughout the season.
